The name Nanlee Engineering was conceived in 1983 by Lee R. Cuba, P.E. and his wife Nancy. Since the conception of Nanlee Engineering Inc.'s name, there have been many developments. Lee became a registered Professional Engineer in 1987, and is currently registered in Georgia, North Carolina, and Indiana. The first product to come from the young company was a windscreen to reduce drag when traveling with a trailer. As a Process Engineer for Southwire in GA, from '78-'87, Lee developed his skills in many areas relating to industrial processes and manufacturing. Lee then worked for Essex Wire and Cable in SC from '87-'89, and in IN from '89-'95, as a Process Engineer with a myriad of responsibilites. He then began working for GII Solutions as an Engineering Manager, experience which paved the way to the independent company. One of the projects for GII was an automated machine to feed, load, inspect, grind, and store textile cots (rubber guiding wheels). The machine was able to process 350 cots, unattended, in 4 hours, a job that formerly took 3 operators 24 hours to finish. Another project was a pick and place that automatically fed in long rubber tubes, cut them to length, and chamfered the ends. Nanlee Engineering then contracted to Forest Designs from '97-'99. Through Forest Designs, work began with Volvo Heavy Construction Equipment designing material handling, and with Sonoco designing automation. The project with Sonoco involved modifying a packaging machine that put the foil lid on Pringlestm cans. Through intensive 3D modeling and attention to detail, the modified machine went together without any engineering changes required, and was able to put on 600 lids per minute. After working with other companies, Nanlee Engineering incorporated in 2002. With the addition of several employees, automation, maintenance, guarding, documentation, and prototyping were provided to the Reynolds companies. In 2004 Nanlee Engineering gained certification in machine guarding from Rockford Systems, and began working with several companies to bring their guards to standard using Nanlee Engineering's Mobile Manufacturing Team. In April of 2005, due to our continued growth, Nanlee Engineering Inc. moved into its current building, a 3000 sqft facility with offices and a shop, where we stand ready to meet your needs.
