This is a catch-all page for that part of my brain that doesn't quite fit anywhere else.

If you enjoy optical illusions, Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto, Japan) Department of Psychology student, Akiyoshi Kitaoka's illusion pages will keep you occupie-eyed for hours. Links to hundreds of additional images will have you painlessly cross-eyed in no time. Viewer caution is encouraged, particularly to those who are prone to dizziness or upset stomachs.
Does anybody know what time it is? Does anybody really care? This cool site gives new meaning to the phrase "too much time on my hands!"
The title says it all. If you are a fan of music festivals, everything you ever forgot you did in the company of complete strangers will come rushing back like a flashback from the archive of oblivion.
Argus Music Search - A fascinating "fuzzy logic" site which provides links, discographies, bios, etc. to just about every artist you can think of that has a presence on the net. Direct links to artist entries in Fuzz, Acid and Flowers, the All Music Guide To Rock and the Gibralter Encyclopedia of Progressive Rock as well as various internet music stores make this a one-stop shopping site that is invaluable for anyone researching their favorite artist.
Beyond the Calico Wall - If your significant other continually answers the phone, "Sorry, s/he's out in the garage", then this is the site for you! Nudge, nudge, say no more! Any site that opens with a reprint of Julian Cope's "Tales from the Drug Attic" article from the NME has already scored boucoups points in my book. Tons of links to bands, labels and other garage/psych related sites.
This site offers an extremely comprehensive online library of books, music, videos and periodicals which examine "the complex relationship between humans and psychoactive plants and chemicals." An informed user beats an ignorant abuser anyday.
50 Tabs of Psychoactive Delight - No, it's not the latest edition of Vernon Joynson's psych bibles (see Psychedelic Archive ), but a highly subjective listing of the Top 50 essential UK pop/psych LPs from the heady '66-'70 daze. Assembled by Tony Dale and Rick Haney, with able minded assistance from Karl Ikola, Jason Witherspoon and a heavenly host of other "Oracles" from one of my discussion lists, this is the place to start building your record collection if you're into the music of the period.
The Greatest Rock Albums - Well, at least their covers, anyway. This Australian site, hosted by Warren Oponda, depicts JPEG images of Warren's selection of the, well. you get the picture! Some of the LPs include detailed track listings, release dates and label/catalogue number, and a brief summary of Warren's opinion on why it should be included. You may not agree with his selections, but you can't find a better collection of eye candy anywhere else. Proof, once again, that vinyl lives and nothing beats a 12x12 piece of cardboard, a painting box and an active imagination for creating some of the world's finest objets d'art! If I had even a third of these in my collection, I'd die with a smile on my face, a song in my heart and a head full of beautiful music!
Krautrock, Inc. - Billed as a "Krautrocksampler companion," this massive site will keep you busy for months. The crosslinks alone would make Sherlock Holmes jealous, winding as they do through a spaghetti maze that makes the backstreets of London seem as smooth as the Autobahn. I felt like a twelfth-level Freemason navigating through all the links...and that just scratches the surface.

(NOTE: The site is very graphics intensive and may take a while to load, but it's worth it.)

Krautrock Discography

Dirk has done his homework in compiling over 1800 German rock LPs (sorted by artist and label).

He also gives you a comprehensive list of nearly 100 live recordings as well as over 150 TV and soundtrack appearances released between 1963 and 1979.

See how many you can identify from the album covers shown here!

For those who live, eat, sleep and breathe krautrock, Nigel Pennington's site is overflowing with reviews, links, festival info, tour dates, mp3's, a streaming kosmische radio show (Cosmic Vibrations), and a whole lot more, making this one of the world's most comprehensive krautrock sites.
Celebrating a birthday once every four years is not as romantic as it sounds. It may give you a psychological respite from the ravages of time, but for someone who enjoys their "special day" as much as I, it has been more of a burden than a relief. There are many folks in the same boat as I am (about 4 million), and this is one of many sites dedicated to us and our predicament. Links to most of the others are available here as well. So to answer questions you haven't even asked about the psychological torture imposed on someone who misses 75% of the birthdays in his lifetime, check this site out.
This site focuses almost exclusively on UK psych between '66-'70. Their selection of LPs includes cover repros, track listings and extracted 45s. Also features some vintage reviews, a guide to UK psych comps and Record Collector's "A-Z of UK Psych" as well as band and label links.
MILESAGO – The definitive site for just about every type of music emanating from Australia and New Zealand from 1964-75. Duncan Kimball and Paul Culnane compiled and maintain this exceptionally well researched site from numerous print and online sources as well as personal interviews with the artists. If you can't find what you're looking for in Joynson's book, try here.
Mondegreens - The archive of misheard lyrics. You can view thousands of silly interpretations of obvious lyrics that will make even you seem like a genius. You can even add your own and share your brilliant insight with the rest of us poor slobs who are obviously going deaf for a living. There's even a message board for the seriously deranged. Like, "'scuse me while I kiss this guy."

"A dark corner of the void dedicated to....Psychedelia, Acid Rock, Progressive Rock, Garage Bands, 60’s Punk, Freakbeat, wig-lifting rarities, books, posters, lightshows and other STRANGE items related to pSycheDelic music........." This includes an extensive library of psych literature, band links, posters/art and the largest collection of links to those heads behind the lightshows available on the net!

Post-rock  bands - Everything you always wanted to know (including Simon Raymond's definition) about this catch-all genre of (mostly) instrumental bands from around the world. Links to band sites where you can listen to samples of their work is a great bonus.
Psychedelia.com - Not exactly sure who the Dark Lord is, but he's got one mindfrying website. Until that "sugar cube" acid trip site comes back online, this is the best spot I've found. You'll be tempted to drop by for a few minutes to check it out and before you know it, a few days will have gone by....
The Database of Psychedelic Rock Music - Betti Grohnert and Alie Thormann have begun the undaunting task of creating a one-stop site focusing on the current state of psychedelic music in the 21st century. Features reviews, links and discussions of hundreds of artists whose music belongs in your collection. Stop by and sign up to offer album and gig reviews (you'll find my review of Bevis Frond's live show at The Knitting Factory in NYC in October, '99 at the Frond link,) bandlinks and merchandise for your fellow space travellers. A truly interactive site for bands and fans alike.
The grandaddy of 'em all and just about my favorite site on the net. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about the music, the art, the literature and the history of what makes freedom ring. Do yourself a flavor and Feed your Head.
The Pspot - This self-proclaimed "one stop spot for sixties garage and psych heads" features trivia, "Best of" lists, an international e-mail discussion list, links to like-minded sites, and lots more. Curator Brian Jenkins has done an excellent job dispelling that old saying, "If you remember the 60s, you weren't there!

Keeping alive the ancient practice of sitting Buddha-like on the carpet in front of your stereo, studying the artwork that accompanied the slab of vinyl stuck between a couple of pieces of cardboard, these folks have everything: Fillmore posters, The Family Dog artwork, concert handbills and loads more to keep you busy for months. Purchase, bid, discuss.

One of the hottest scenes in music is the sudden emergence of Scandinavian Indie rock and roll. Erik Söderström's award-winning site contains everything you need to know. It's huge and it's amazing. Stop by often to keep up with all the latest developments.

Uncle Sam Through The Looking Glass - For all you xenophobes out there, here's our rundown of the Top 50 US pop/psych LPs from the sixties. Compiled by Tony Dale, it's a great starting point for building your collection. Combined with the above list of British releases, these are 100 albums that should be in every collection.

Just what it implies. Another Vinyl Junkie in a parallel universe (OK, in Japan) has gathered some virtual eyecandy to bring tears to the eye as you gaze upon the forgotten tradition of album cover art. What a collection!
