FAMILY FORTRESSES

Over the last one thousand years, the House of Lemavia and related families have ruled many territories in the Kingdoms of Galicia, Asturias, León, Castile, Navarre, among others. The control of these lands required the construction of castles, towers and fortresses, many of them over five centuries old. Below are shown some of the structures which belonged to the family's ancestors.

Unfortunately, most of them have been expropiated by the Government of Spain from their legimite owners, claiming that they are historical landmarks which must be preserved for the major good of the public. The truth is that, in public hands, they have deteriorated more in the last one hundred years than in their half millenium of existence.
