Abraham Hess was born in March 1762.[1] He signed a will on 5 March 1821 in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[2] He died after 5 March and before 21 March 1821 in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania; burial at the Levering Cemetery; Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[3] Abraham=s will was probated 21 March 1821 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[4]
Abraham Hess and Ann Fisher were married on 5 January 1785 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[5] Ann Fisher (daughter of John Fisher and Frances AFrankey@ Kuhl) was born on 27 December 1769 in Bethel Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[6] She died after 1834 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania. She was buried after 1834 in Levering Cemetery; Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.

Peter Hess was born in Aug 1802 in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[11] He died before 7 April 1851[12] Dennis Hess was identified as buying from Henry Grubbs, the executor of Peter Hess's estate. However, it appeared that in 1829, Peter had already sold his interest in the estate to William Barton.[13]
10. i. Archibald Hess was born on 20 Nov 1804 in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[14] He sold his interest in his father's estate to Henry Furney in 1826 in Belfast Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[15] Court records show that he lived in Ohio before 1851.[16]
11. j. Ruhamy Hess (born on 8 March 1806).

2. Elizabeth Hess (Abraham‑1) was born on 22 Nov 1786 in Bethel Twp., Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[19] She died on 22 Feb 1858 in Licking Creek Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania. She was buried on 25 Feb 1858 in Sideling Hill Church Cemetery; Belfast Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Hess and Samuel Mellott were married on 19 May 1812 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[20], [21] Samuel Mellott (son of John M. Mellott and Elizabeth Sampson) was born in 1783 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[22] He died on 8 May 1858 in Licking Creek Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.

After the death of Mary in 1858, he then married Rachel Mellott. William Hess and Mary Ann Decker were married circa 1817 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.[38] Mary Ann Decker was born on 16 Jan 1798 in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania. George Hess married Zillah Akers circa 1820 in Bedford Co., PA. Zillah Akers is the daughter of Ephriam Akers and Rachel (Hanks) Akers of Loudon Co, Virginia. Zillah is the widow of John Hay. Two children were born to John and Zillah Hay: Ephraim and Elizabeth Hay. Zillah Akers was born in 1795 in Bedford Co., PA. She died before 1856 in Brush Creek Twp., Fulton Co., PA.
George and Zillah Hess appeared in the census on 17 Sept 1850 in Brush Creek Twp., Fulton Co., PA.[46] From court records we know eight children were born of this union; four of whom we have been able to identify as Dennis D.B.; Oliver; Hannah and Abraham. Four more children were born to this union but not identified by name in the court records.[47]

52. c. Oliver Hess was born in 1832 in Brush Creek Twp., Bedford Co., PA. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Goldfield, Wright Co., Iowa.[49] He in 1870 was identified in court records as a son of George Hess and a heir.[50]
