1957 Turner Vintage Racing Car (FOR SALE)

This 1957 Turner vintage racing car was completed in 2002. It was constructed by Wally Hicks, SCCA’s 1978 Class H Production National Champion and master builder and has been professionally maintained since.  It has competed successfully in SVRA, VRG and VSCCA events and has logbooks for both VSCCA and SVRA.

It was built with VSCCA events in mind. That organization has the most stringent set of rules for vintage competition. Therefore, the car is acceptable everywhere and requires no waivers or special permission.

            Basics:

·        Driver safety was paramount in the construction, but the vintage esthetic was preserved.

·        Legal 948 BMC engine puts out competitive power in the under one liter class. New in spring of 2006.

·        Legal close ratio four speed transmission – new in 2005. clutch new in 2005.

·        Legal alfin drum brakes – relined 2006

·        Legal 4.5 inch wire wheels

·        Dunlop 204 compound spec tires – long wearing and predictable

·        Three differentials of different ratios and advice about what to use where.

·        Complete technical information, engine logs, previous results, etc.

The car is quite attractive and attracts a lot of attention in the paddock. The paint has been renewed on an annual basis and is good enough to show. Photos of it have appeared often in the vintage racing magazines and can be seen elsewhere on this site.

This car is the best BMC powered Turner in the country!  It won the Turner Reunion Race at VIR in 2002, a class winner at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, was second at the all-Turner race at Summit Point in 2005, fastest legal BMC-Turner at the 2006 Turner Reunion with trophies and a good record in between,
