The night before, Leon directed and acted in the music movie A Melody Looking had its charity premiere at the Cityplaza UA Theatre. It helped raised HK$1 million in funds for the "Services for the Mentally Handicapped" supported by the Community Chest. Gaile Lok appeared at the premiere. Leon's fans gave her a big welcome. Leon, Jill, Janice, Charles Ying, Chapman To, and Emily Wong attended the premiere. In addition, Leon's good friend Korean star Jung Woo Sung and Mark Lui also attended. Recently, a tabloid pointed out that Gaile took nude photos in the past which made Leon furious. The night before, Leon did not accept the media's interview. But at the preview showing earlier, he expressed that the music movie will only be shown once at the charity premiere. Each ticket costs HK$1,650. The movie is not arranged to be screened in theatres, but will be released on DVD because DVD has collective value. He feels fans buying the DVD to watch will be worth its value. But screened in the theatres, it probably will backfire. He also do not have to withstand pressures from the box office and critics.
Leon spoke frankly that it's only OK directing the music movie. Filming a movie, he cannot. Can the music movie apply for the Hong Kong Film Awards? He expressed that he don't know if it can apply if not screened in theatres. But holding a charity premiere, it supposedly can apply. Earlier, Andy Lau expressed to hundreds of fans if everyone votes for him and he doesn't receive an award, it could prove it's rigged. Leon said, "This music movie has 17 songs. Although a lot of songs, not being nominated (Best Original Film Song)....But, I can't say that."
