He expressed that he never acted in this type of role, so he felt excited and nervous. Leon felt Shen Jun Chu is grim and rational. His outside seems happy, but inside he's in pain. Leon said, "When a man encounters a woman that he loves and he misses the opportunity, I would think it's painful." Leon said the character is very different from himself. He said, "He's unhappy and represses his emotions. I get happy easily, so I had to use a lot of different methods to play the character's moods."
There are a lot of interactions between Fan Bing Bing and Leon in the movie. When talking about their lingering scenes, Fan Bing Bing expressed that it's her first time working with Leon. In her eyes, Leon is a veteran who acted in many movies and is a good actor. She saw a lot of inner child in him. Sometimes, his actions and ideas will make people feel differently. Fan Bing Bing said, "As an actor, we have sentimental interations in the movie. Sometimes, his moods would take me away. His moods would affect me."
