The night before, Leon, Miriam Yeung, Janice, Jill, Michael Wong, and Charles Ying attended National Renowned Chefs For The Chest fundraising banquet. Leon auctioned off 3 pots of 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall' (soup) that he made for the first time. Before the auction, the organizer played video clips of Leon in the kitchen. Seeing himself cooking, he ridiculed himself and said, "I should be presented with the culinary skills acting award!" The base price for the soup increased after another, from HK$50,000 to HK$88,000 a pot. In the end, 3 donors bid a total of HK$384,000. A female donor even praised the soup Leon cooked as especially sweet.

During the interview, Leon spoke frankly that the taste of the soup is definitely not a problem, because there was a chef watching the whole process. He smiled and said that he followed the chef's secret recipe. He only offered two hands to cook! He said he don't usually cook. People in his motherland Beijing are traditional. Mostly the women cooked. Asked if this tradition needs another half to cook, he said, "It's no use how traditional. Destiny arranges your other half to understand cooking or not, or you have to personally cook." Asked if he's desperate to eat a family meal, Leon said, "My maid worked for me for over 10 years. I always have family meals to eat, and her culinary skills are great. Upstair and downstair maids even asked her to teach them. There was a year I wanted to eat Thai spring rolls and green curry. I treated my maid to vacation in Thailand and told her to learn how to cook them. After returning, she showed off by asking me to try the cooked green curry. The taste was 90% similar to what I ate in Thailand!"
