Starring Leon, Kelly Chen, and Donnie Yen, the movie An Empress And The Warriors will premiere in the beginning of next year. In the movie besides wearing armor, Kelly also has sentimental scenes with Leon including a kiss. However, Kelly said the most romantic scene is not the kissing scene but a scene where she and Leon are on a hot air balloon. She joked that she fulfilled every girls' dream.
Kelly and Leon fully trust the movie's director Tony Ching. Both expressed they will coordinate regardless on love or action scenes. Kelly said, "Tony is well-known for actions in front of the camera, so I will listen to him. I will not complain if he tells me to roll on the ground, jump in the water, or have mud all over my face, because I trust him."
It's Kelly's first time filming an ancient movie. Of course, she hopes to do well. So before filming started, she stopped all work to train riding horses and martial arts. Asked what's the most difficult part filming, she spoke frankly in the scene with large number of people under the heat of 40ºC. She said, "Filming in the heat wearing a helmet, I was sweating. After filming each time, I get a little dizzy. I frequently prepared an ice bag, ice water, and miniature fan to avoid getting a heat-stroke."
Moreover working with Kelly for the first time, Leon praised her for being the most professional among actresses. When she had free time, she would continue to practice martial arts and never complained.
