“WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO?”                     From: LeslieG25@comcast.net

Last Updated March 12, 2012

DEAR FOLKS, PLEASE NOTE:  If you haven’t seen updates on line, it is because I send the events DIRECTLY to the newsletter folks as there is too much to fit sometimes.  If you don’t want to miss anything, I will add your name to the mailing list.  Add me to the “Safe Senders” to allow for bulk emails!

If you have not done so already, please add this link to your “Favorites” so you always have access!

Feel free to share! Main Web Page Link: http://leslieg25.home.comcast.net/

(Should you NOT wish to receive the newsletter, please just email me to have your name taken off the list-done!)

Make sure my email address is in YOUR address book.  That will allow for you to receive the newsletter bulk mailings.

This is NOT just for singles although Singles Events are mentioned.  I have posted all kinds of activities that can be enjoyed alone or with a partner.  Just get up, get out and try to enjoy what there is! (Showing up is half the battle!)

This includes different groups like Ski Clubs, Kings Grant , Social45, New Outlook Singles etc. You do not have to be a “member” to attend.  Contact the email or Phone # with the posting if you want to be sure.  As new events come in, I will add them to up-date the page, or if it is mailed to me too close to the event day, you will get a direct email so you won’t miss it!

YOU can ADD to:

PHOTO GALLERY:  Meet the other folks on the newsletter!  Just send me a current photo, first name, email, web address or phone number if you would like to be contacted and name THREE passions/interests (you dance, ski, love concerts, animals-whatever suits you).  Connect with others that share your interests.  Married folks ok too, but I will denote that you are!

BUSINESS CARD DIRECTORY: I’ve been adding!  If you would like to be on the list with your business or service, write me your info and I will add it to the list.  If you are LOOKING for a service, simply click on the list to check first!

***VERY IMPORTANT link to the “Known Sex Offenders” list—DO SHARE!   http://www12.familywatchdog.us/

Once you contact this list, they will up date you on who moves in or out!

To all animal lovers: The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (how about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box “fund food for animals”  for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Pass along!

If you have two seconds, please CLICK to feed shelter pets http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/

We are all responsible for our own happiness—look what there is to do!

HEY, FOLKS: If you know of an event you think others might enjoy, PLEASE let me know so I can share it!  Thanks!

More Heart Attacks and Strokes happen after a large meal (and for some reason Monday mornings)

Would you know what do to in the event someone was having a STROKE? Here are three things to ask if suspect someone’s behavior is unlike them and could be symptoms of a stroke (which CAN be LIFE threatening).  STR: PLEASE, ask the person to

1)  SMILE, 2) TALK-SAY A SIMPLE SENTENCE.  3) RAISE BOTH ARMS   If any cannot be done easily, CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. Simple task: Ask then to stick out their tongue-if it goes only to one side, it is a sure sign of a stroke! Describe the symptoms to the dispatcher so they may assist in your caring for them until an ambulance arrives. I have seen “mini strokes” where the person just “zones out” for a period of 1-4 minutes.  Ask them THEIR NAME and the current DATE. These can be warnings of bigger life threatening strokes or early signs of dementia.  In any event, there are blood flow problems and you should contact a doctor if you witness abnormal behavior as the patient WILL NOT RECALL THE BLACK OUTS!

Gee, if everyone drove like someone VERY special needed them to be alive tomorrow, would they slow down JUST a BIT??

Seat belts are not as confining as wheelchairs.  (ask Jon Corsine!)

If you can’t remember the last time you told someone that matters that you LOVE them, it’s been too long!

“First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
Then I was dying to finish college and start working.
And then I was dying to marry and have children.
And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could return to work.
And then I was dying to retire.
And now, I’m dying…and suddenly realize I forgot to live.”

LIFE IS LIKE A ROLL OF TOILET PAPER-THE CLOSER YOU GET TO THE END, THE FASTER IT GOES!

We are all reaching our “expiration date”...The time for better choices and FUN is NOW!!!
