What's new?

Happy 50th Birthday
Levittown, Pennsylvania!

Grand Marshals (and Levittown natives) Bucks County Commissioner Mike Fitzpatrick and Pennsylvania Governer Mark Schweiker lead The Levittown 50th Anniversary "Live the American Dream" Parade in a 1956 Chevrolet driven  by Falls Township Supervisor Bill Dayton.

Click < here > and < here > to see pictures of the beautiful banners made by volunteer residents of each section!

I want to commend and congratulate the members of The Levittown Anniversary Committee for the incredible job they've done with the parade as well as all of the events throughout the 50th Anniversary year.

If you grew up in Lakeside or Pinewood in the early 60's, you'll probably remember playing on the jet airplane that used to sit on the playground at Walt Disney Elementary School. Former Levittowner John Fretts solves one History's Lost & Found Mysteries!  <click here>

So, you think you know Levittown do ya?

Let's see how well ! Try out these questions to see if you can call yourself an expert in Levittown Trivia. <click here>

I recently came across a transcript of the speech that then Senator John F. Kennedy made at the Levittown Shop-A-Rama on Sunday, October 30, 1960. <click here>

Want to see what Levittown looked like in the early days in color and in motion? I've put together a page with links to industrial and documentary film footage that include views of Levittown and the Delaware Valley area. You can watch them on the web using RealPlayer. <click here>

Check out the webshots.com page that I have linked to the site, I stick various pictures on there from time to time, you never know what you'll find! <click here>

Also, visit the Links page, I've moved a few things over there.

What month & year did the first owner move into your Levittown home?

I've been working on a Levittown Facts section, to answer those nagging questions like: "What sections did they build Colonial's in?" or "Which 2 letters of the alphabet were not used when naming the sections?" I would appreciate any facts about Levittown that you would like to share. If you have any or see any mistakes in the facts area, pop me an e-mail! levittown@hotmail.com
