WHO ARE WE???

Our speech and debate team is open to students in grades 9-12. Students in grades 6-8 may have an opportunity to compete as well.

All students are welcome at team practice and able to compete with the team if they show discipline, strong ethics and conduct.  Our team

has competed since the 04-05 season at numerous tournaments in Western Washington, including the State Finals. In 2007, we attended

our first National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas. In 2008, we competed at Nationals in Las Vegas, NV.

Shape the history of a growing program and help yourself in preparing for college and beyond. You will learn numerous skills in researching, speaking, thinking on your feet and presenting. The events in which you can participate are Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Student Congress, Humorous or Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Oratory, Extemporaneous Speaking, Expository,  Oral Interpretation, and Impromptu Speaking.

Colleges continually point out that the ability to communicate brings success in college and that they look for that quality in students

Forensics (speech and debate) will help you develop skills in researching, thinking on your feet, and communicating at a high level.

You will have a chance to travel the Northwest to numerous regional tournaments.

In 2008-2009, we also have the opportunity to travel to California and Alabama.
