Each year we receive approximately 35 to 40 requests from groups to play. Eight groups are invited to play, usually a good cross-section of music. The event is run by the Los Gatos Kiwanis Club and is a fund raiser for Community Children’s Projects. The pay is terrible, the exposure is great. Each group plays a 90 minute set and is paid $350.00; closing groups play 2 hours and are paid $425.00. We usually close with groups that have played with us before because we know the audience reception. The morning is listening (Jazz, Latin, Light Rock); the afternoon is usually listening and dancing. Sound is provided by Bel Aire Productions.
