Meeting Happenings

Bob Jones officiated again today for MarLyn.  Still no sign of the gavel, but no note either?  Al led us in song, Bob led the Pledge and Janet said the invocation. * Tom introduced the speaker who had a 1:30 appointment so we conformed to her schedule.   After her presentation we proceeded with the general meeting. *  Steve reported on the DCM last night with the new Lt Gov officiating..  Also the new Key Lt Gov was there.  We will have the Thanksgiving food drive.  The Mid Year Conference will be at the SJ Marriott so they will need a representative from each club.  And the Turnaround Scholarship project was awarded $6000. * Bill celebrated his birthday with a check to Turnaround Scholarship, and regaled us with a few choice items about October 26 –one being Navy Day. That’s a special day for Ernie also. It’s the day he joined Kiwanis 49 years ago.  * Pat won the pot and it was the $50 dollar joker!  *  Without the bell and without the gavel Bob adjourned this meeting.

Happy/Sad Dollars

Pat had 2 happy dollars for her 2 friends.  Ray had 1 happy dollar and 1 sad dollar related to packing and going to Sacramento to see his granddaughter.  Ernest was happy to remind us of Tom Rigler’s perfect 50 years, and Sue reminded us of Ernie’s 49 perfect years.  Rosalie was sad that they missed a museum volunteer time slot.  Tim celebrated a birthday with a grandson at “Pump it Up”   Len had a dollar to celebrate the top of Mt Whitney with his daughter, even the 200 miles of snow on the road.  Steve was happy to see guests Kathy and Veronica, and happy about the great speaker today.
