Spacer History

Spacer is a Portland-area rock band consisting of two members, Jon and Shawn.

The Story of Spacer begins in 2003, when Shawn was looking for new members for his former band, E-lie. Jon, fresh off the breakup of his former group, Phase III, found out about this through one of his former band-mates, and ended up joining E-lie, which played local Portland-area venues together for nearly two years.

When E-lie finally disbanded in the fall of 2005, Shawn and Jon began looking for new musicians to join them in a new project. Disappointed by the results of this search, they determined to keep making music, and decided to form Spacer -- using pre-recorded drum and bass tracks to supplement their live vocal and instrumental performances.

Today, Spacer is writing and recording new material to further refine their sound, and musical concepts. Look for Spacer to begin playing Portland-area venues in the coming months.
