Both
representatives greeted students in the House chambers to provide them with first
hand knowledge of how the state government works. A question and answer time
was most informative as well.
The
students then took a tour through the State House. The tour guide spoke of
the history of the building’s architecture and its design. Other highlights
of the tour were the Hall of Flags and the Senate chambers.
After a stop at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, the students
commented, “it was the best exhaustion felt in years.” The trip made them
feel like “proud citizens who are involved with history.” The students hope
that this will become an annual event.
