Dear Parents,
Wow, this is it...the end of the school
year 2011-2012! Didn't we just begin!!??
It has been a wonderful year...good kids, good parents, good times,
good learning. Thank you for
being so supportive throughout the year.
This week marks the end of
assessments for math and science. Thursday will be the last math
chapter test over decimals (chapters 18, 19), and Friday will be the
last science test over simple machines (chapter 6). The students have
done an outstanding job with their task menus for simple machines,
taking charge of their own learning.
Our Field Day
is next Wednesday, May 16. It will take place on the LHS track, located
behind the high school. We'll leave BRE around 8:45, and should return
between 11:30 and 12:00. The students will need to dress appropriately
for the weather (whatever it might be), bring towels to sit on, as well
as water bottles. This will be Mrs. Barton's last Field Day, she is
retiring this year. Both she and Coach Myers have done a terrific job
getting the students ready for the big day.
Our end-of-the-year party will be
Friday, May 18, from 11:00 to 1:00. A note will go home in folders
Wednesday with the details. Fourth grade is planning to celebrate
together with a Pizza Party, and we have asked for donations to help
cover the cost of pizza, drinks and dessert. The students really enjoy
just playing and spending time together. Hopefully the weather will
cooperate, as we have reserved the covered pavilion on the upper
playground. Feel free to join us if you like.
Once again, we are asking that
you send in a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you would like your
child's report card mailed to you. Otherwise, you may pick up report
cards on May 23. CRCT
testing results will also go home with report cards. Please keep in mind that all monies owed
BRE must be paid in order for report cards to be either mailed or
picked up.
Please remember that if you need
to pick up your child early for an
appointment, you must do it before 3:00 P.M. This policy is for
the
safety all of our students. If you know in advance, please send a note
for me with your child in the morning. Also, remember that if
your child is absent, I will need a note stating a reason for the
absence. An email is also acceptable.
At
the
bottom
of
this
page
is
a
direct
link
for
you
to
email
me.
Please
feel
free to do so any time--it is the best and most efficient way to
communicate
with me.
Thank you for sharing your
children with me. Have a
wonderful week and a super summer!
Mrs. Rennick
