Dear Parents,
Oh my goodness! It is time
to trot out the turkey already! The students
are doing very well as most have gotten the hang of 4th grade by now.
Progress reports looked pretty good last week.
Sorry I did not get the
website updated for the last couple of weeks, but there really was not
much to update. We are all working hard preparing for our upcoming 4th
grade production of "The Nutcracker." All students will be actively
involved this year since there is so much dance involved in the play. I
know Mrs. McCullum (drama teacher) would appreciate any help you could
give her in putting it all together.
PTO will once again be sponsoring
Reindeer Lane, a fundraiser where students will be able to do some of
their Holiday shopping at school. The dates and times are listed
at the right. Information and envelopes went home today with blue
folders.
Math
still finds our classes studying multiplication
and division for the next few months--reviewing, and then moving on to
double-digit multiplication and long division. Know those facts quickly
will be essential for their success. There are
several links on the subject page for practice.
We are now studying a unit on
Astronomy. The students usually enjoy the study of
space, so please feel free discuss your interests in this area of
study, or point out any interesting current news pieces on the subject.
I did send home an extra credit project this week--journaling the
phases of the moon for the next two weeks. Here is a link to a website
for a quick look at the current
phase of the moon in case your child missed it, or it was too
cloudy to observe.
The
students
really
enjoy Popcorn Fridays. It would be a big help to PTO if you could send
in the money on the Thursday before.
I continue to update the link to Spelling City on the Homework
page. The students can practice their words by playing games. A
handwriting practice sheet can also be printed from the word list.
Here is a link to the Medication Form needed
to
administer medicine at school.
Please remember that if you need to pick up your child early for an
appointment, you must do it before 3:00 P.M. This new policy is for the
safety all of our students.
At the bottom of this page is a direct link for you
to email me. Please feel
free to do so any time--it is the best and most efficient way to
communicate
with me.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Rennick
P.S. Be sure to check the test
calendar for the dates.
