Other techniques I use are marbling mixing two or more colors together.

Mokume Gane is a Japanese metalsmithing term. It means "wood grain metal" and refers to the growth rings in trees.

Millefiori is an Italian glassworking term, meaning 'thousand  flowers' that Venetian glassworkers used to describe their copies of ancient mosaic glass.

Other techniques are texturizing clay and slicing through marbled clay to make an interesting design.
