OK, so I'm a frustrated guitar-hack, Eric Clapton wannabe. So what? Despite my meager skills, I have managed to accumulate a fairly neat collection of gear. This shot is my collection in 1999. Since this was taken, I have sold the Traynor head, Fender Pro Jr, the 2x12 cabinet, the G&L SC-3 and the Ibanez Les Paul.
The cabinet below was my first amp cabinet. It's Fender Vibrolux size and holds a Bandmaster Reverb chassis. The blonde tolex, oxblood grill is my favorite Fender color scheme and looks really sharp in natural, late afternoon sunlight.
The Fender tweed Deluxe (5E3) is a popular choice for first time amp builders. I built this amp entirely from scratch using published schematics and layouts. More pix here: 5E3
The AX84 November is a Marshall "Plexi" preamp mated to a 2xEL84 power section. The design is from noted amp guru Randall Aiken of Aiken Amps fame. He put the design in the public domain via the AX84 website. The guitar is a Hamer Special. To see more November pictures or pictures of my AX84 P1 project, click on the buttons below.
