Dear Brothers & Sisters,
I often hear people wanting to know information about Black Lake and being able to visit there. In July, there are 3 sessions that are offered to UAW members. It is called the Family Scholarship Program. In order to be eligible you must have been a member in good standing for one year and never have attended this program before. During the week long sessions, the parents attend work shops and the kids, depending on their age, attend different work shops. It is great for the whole family.

There is also a great golf discount for members and retirees who golf. So, for those of you interested, don't delay. You can download and apply on line. There are a lot of people interested in this program.

Our net assets as of March 2008 are $431,867.56. That is good considering we had a couple of large bills with the General Election and Sub Councils. I am a little concerned with the upcoming attrition packages and all the lay-offs. But we will continue to take the steps necessary in securing our Local.

As a reminder, to better serve our members we have a Benefit Rep. here everyday now!! The new phone system should be installed soon. We hope this will make it easier for everyone.
With everything happening, it is very important to attend your Union meetings.
