Hello Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Thanksgiving. As you travel the highways, please be careful and be mindful of our surroundings. As of this writing, the health care reform legislation is still being discussed in the Senate and hopefully the battle will be won. If you can, contact your Senator and even some of the Republican Senators that are so steadfastly opposed to this legislation, would be a great help. E-mail, write letters, make phone calls. All these tactics can only help not hurt our chances of getting this Bill passed.

On Thursdays at the Windmill Place at 11:00 am people that favor the health care reform meet and march a couple blocks in front of Representative Kildee and Senator Stabeneau's office carrying signs and chanting slogans like "All in for health care". The rally only lasts till 1:00 pm. So, on those Thursdays until National Health Care is passed, you are welcome to come over and walk with members with like ideas and show support for something our country desperately needs and has needed for many years. Also, on November 21, 2009, the Local Black History Committee is holding its Annual Western Round-Up Cabaret fundraiser from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Donation is $15.00. This event funds the Annual Black History Program held the last Sunday in January 2010 with entertainment, history and dinner which is free to all. So, contact the Dues Office for tickets or see any Black History Committee members in your plant, and last but not least, the Annual Santa's Christmas Party will be held December 5, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. Come and have your picture taken with Santa Claus, see a movie, have punch and snacks. So bring your kids or grandkids out for an afternoon of fun and laughter with Santa. Any questions, call the Union Hall at 232-4130 ext. 231.
