Hello Brothers and Sisters,
The warm weather is finally here and I hope that you are all enjoying the long days of summer.
The Local has many activities scheduled. On June 20th, the Flint Metal Center's 6th Annual Retirement Get Together will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the UAW Local 659 Pavilion. June 27th at Briar Ridge Golf Course the LSI Unit will be sponsoring a Ronald Durecki Benefit Golf Scramble. So all of you golfers, contact Bob Weissend at 810-720-6354 to sign up. Saturday, July 11th, the UAW Annual Walleye Tournament will be held in AuGres, Michigan. Contact Doug Filkins at 989-737-4903. Next up for the anglers is the Salmon Tournament which is to be held August 15th in Ludington, MI. Also, call Doug for information.Last on our list is the Local 659 21st Annual Golf Tournament. This year's event will be combined with our Retirees Chapter to make for a more enjoyable outing.
With all the activities that the Local sponsors for all of our members, please sign up before the deadlines to be counted. If enough members are not signed up, the events will be cancelled. The Recreation Committee works very hard for you, so take advantage of as many activities as you can. I know that you will enjoy them.
