I can't believe it is November already. I hope everyone enjoys a Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends and don't over indulge in turkey and all the trimmings.
An up date on our eye and dental care: Delta Dental is offering a benefit plan that doesn't seem to be beneficial to the retirees. It is costly and only covers dental with a cap of $1,600 per person per year. It only pay 50% for all major dental work at a cost of $45.00 per single per month and $90.00 per couple per month. In my opinion, this plan is too costly. I will not be signing up for this one.
The UAW will be sending you more information on a plan with Cobra that will cover eye and dental at a lower co-pay. I do not have the break-down on the cost of this plan, but when I do, I will let you know.
It might pay for you to shop around to see what is available but don't sign up until you know the cost of the Cobra plan.Also, as a reminder, the new VEBA medical card and package will be mailed to you shortly. Do not destroy your old one until you receive the new card.
The only up coming events will be the Christmas Show at Frankenmuth on December 2nd and the Christmas dinners on December 15, 16 and 17, 2009. Hope you all got your tickets. See you there.
Also, mark your 2010 calendar, there will be a Casino Trip planned at the Fire Keepers Casino in Battle Creek for Wednesday, February 24th, 2010. Sign-up for this trip will be Tuesday, January 5th and Wednesday, January 6th. The cost will be $15.00 per person with a $20.00 play plus a $5.00 coupon. Members and spouses only.

LOCAL 659 BALL PARK
BRICK PAVER FUND RAISER
Local 659 is selling brick pavers to form a sidewalk to the pavilion next to our ball fields. The price is $50.00 ($35.00 for Retirees) for a red brick that measures 8"X8"X 2 l/2". Each brick has space available for four lines of message with fourteen spaces per line.
Print a letter above each number, spaces must also be counted.
