Saturday Parking Data from the EIR

The chart below is from the EIR for the Beth El Synagogue & School Project at 1301 Oxford. [click on table to make bigger]

Some things to note about Parking pages in the EIR:

The table above is data for Sat Mar 20, 1999 for the extended parking study area, which was intended to extend about 1/4 mi from the project site. It's generally bounded by Walnut, Eunice, Glen-Arch, and Vine. However, it also extends north of Eunice by about a block on Oxford, Spruce, and Arch.

Totals:

  • Parking Supply: 1,009
  • Parking Demand (spaces used): 552
  • Parking Occupancy (% used): 55%
  • Spaces Available: 457

There is also one other table in the EIR (Table 3) that includes a smaller study area intended to be within one block of the project site bounded by Oxford, Eunice, Spruce, and Rose. That table includes data for weekdays and Sunday: Tue 3/16/99, Wed 4/14/99, Tue 3/23/99, Fri 3/19/99, and Sun 4/4/99. It also includes data for Sat Mar 20, 1999 as follows:

  • Parking Supply: 302
  • Parking Demand (spaces used): 148
  • Parking Occupancy (% used): 49%
  • Spaces Available: 154

The smaller study was supposed to be adequate for the lesser parking needs of those days of the week, however is informative for impact on the closer neighbors even for Saturday, the acknowledged highest impact day of the week.

At teh beginning of the Technical Appendices, there are also two more parking tables for data that was taken March 2000. For Extended study area (within 1/4 mi):

  • Parking Supply: 909 (100 less than previous year)
  • Parking Demand (spaces used): 604 (50 more than previous year)
  • Parking Occupancy (% used): 66% (up from 49% previous year)
  • Spaces Available: 304 (down 150 from previous year)

For the "within 1-block" study area:

  • Parking Supply: 234 (down from 302 the previous year)
  • Parking Demand (spaces used): 147 (unchanged)
  • Parking Occupancy (% used): 63% (up 14% from previous year)
  • Spaces Available: 87 (down 67 from previous year)
