The three large paintings that hung in the South, West and East walls of the lodge room behind the Junior Warden, Senior Warden and Worshipful Master, respectfully, were painted, framed, and hung by in the first lodge room by Brother L. Nelson Sylvester, P.M. . He painted one per year; the one in the East in 1934, the one in the West in 1935, and the one in the South in 1936. Since they were too large to be taken into his house, he painted them on his front porch. The only time he could work on them was in the warm spring, summer and fall months. It is interesting to note that he used regular canvas but he did not use artist's oils. He used regular house paint. Although some are fading , the beauty of the pictures still remain and they continue to be treasured by the lodge.
