To date, LEEF has raised over $500,000 and awarded over $150,000 in grants to our teachers and children across the entire school system. Through active fundraising LEEF has established a long-term endowment account working to support our public schools in ways that public funding can not and will not provide for our teachers and children.

It goes without saying how important it is to keep the momentum going. As we work toward strengthening our volunteer efforts, we welcome your assistance in any way you can offer your time or talent(s). Please consider assisting our current LEEF Board of Directors

Yes, I am interested in assisting the LEEF Board of Directors in the following area :

• Annual Fundraising: works on identifying individuals capable of making a substantial gift to the foundation through personal contacts to establish Select Donor Members, as well as, participating in the Phon-a-thon in the spring, The Business Community Campaign, Foundation Grant Writing, and/or Alumni Giving Campaign.
  
• Grant Review: reviews grant applications, assists teachers in applying for grants, and monitors grant programs in progress. (March through May analysis for June Awarding.) Also involves: Board Liaison to the Schools and Investment/Finance.
  
• Special Events: assists in the coordination of a Honor Thy Teacher Program, our Fall Gala, Parent Giving Campaign, Longmeadow Days and possibly another event in the spring of 2006 such as a Spelling Bee.
  
• Investment/Finance: responsible for the financial well being of LEEF data aggregation, and all investments.
  
• Public Relations: requires volunteers who like to do creative work that involves communications, writing, teacher/parent collaboration, and media input.
