Mike, the teams steadiest offensive and defensive defenseman, has gone from being quiet in the locker room to being a vocal presence. This is not a good thing if you're a goaltender or are named Tony. Mike blends defensive prowess with offensive flair and always hustles. Although a back injury has hampered his effectiveness at times, Mike continues to be the teams most consistent defenseman. Normally a playoff dud, Mike had a strong playoff in 2000-2001 and was a plus-3 at the Spectrum. His rift with management has spurned trade talks in the past, but this season both parties have vowed to put their troubles behind them in the interest of team harmony.
