         After missing the playoffs in the 2001-2002 season due to lack of fortitude down the stretch, the Sasquatch decided to beef up on offense and bring a leader into the clubhouse, and they did just that when they traded for Mike. Always known as the consummate 'role player', Mike brought modest on ice skills but is unmatched in his effort and will to win. He has provided  much more than just muscle, and his hard work and leadership were more than management expected and well worth the 9th round draft pick they gave up as compensation. When teamed with de-facto enforcer Stacy Layton, they create space for the Sasquatch skill players and wreak havoc in front of opposing goaltenders. Unfortunately, Mike missed the entire 2003-2004 season with a groin injury that required surgery, but returned in 2004 and played in a limited capacity, scoring just one goal. Now healthy and driven, management expects a true return to form for Mike in the 2005 season.

Career Highlights :

•  Won Rookie-of-the-Year consideration with two goals and 6 points in his freshman season

• Returned from abdominal surgery to score a goal at the Wachovia Spectrum and it was caught on film!!!

Strengths :

• Works hard at both ends of the ice, his determination rubs off on teammates

• Has a strong wrist shot and can get it off in traffic

• Missed a season with injuries and paid anyway so he didn't let the team down

Weaknesses :

• In 3 seasons, has only made 20 games

• Fiery temper can get the best of him, especially when his teammates piss him off
