Watercolor Classes
Classes meet:
Mondays 10:00 – 12:00 or 6:30 – 8:30
Classes run
continually, so you can join at any time!
Cost: $95 for 6
classes for Museum Members; $105 for non-members
All skill levels
welcome- beginners to advanced.
This class is designed for anyone who would like to explore the
exciting world of watercolors. Students will be given an
introduction to various technical aspects of watercolor,
including paper types, brush types, and characteristics of
different pigments. Students
paint from still life set-ups or bring their own objects
and are encouraged to develop their own style.
Each class meeting has a different emphasis, such as
composition, color theory, use of value and different painting
techniques and are adjusted based on the needs of the class.
Each class is concluded with a group critique of the days work.
This is a valuable tool as the students have to opportunity to
learn from and be inspired by each others work. While the idea
of sharing work with fellow student can seem intimidating, it is
done in a positive and non-threatening way.
Classes do not have to be consecutive; students are given a
punch card for 6 sessions to be used within 6 months.
