This website belongs to Ava Marie Lowe! It is the intendend purpose of this websection to record however possible, Ava's existence from conception until birth, Mid-November 2005 through July 29, 2006. As it is the overall purpose of this entire website, to fill each webpage with memories!

Hearing the Good News
We learned of the pregnancy a couple of days after Christmas, 2005. Based on a conception date of mid-November, 2005, the projected miracle of birth shall occur near the end of July, 2006. Upon learning of the great news, we notified our families. We visited each in person, even making a special trip to Ridgeland, MS, to hand Ruby and Charlie a "Baby On Board" sign; our way of breaking the good news to them. And we had just been in Ridgeland at their home where we spent Christmas with the Lowes.

Choosing A Name
Because we do not want to know the sex of the baby until birth, we are strongly considering some names for each gender. If the baby is a boy - Patrick Joseph, or William, or Phillip. The week before birth-time, the name Carter was strongly considered. If the baby is a girl - Ava Marie; also like the name Grace.

Childbirth Classes and Preparation
On June 6, we had our first pre-natal class, about labor and delivery and toured the hospital, where the baby will be born. We didnít learn anything new, but it was good to hear all the information. We attended and participated in weekly classes during the month of June. Lamaze classes started on Thursday, June 8. The hospital seems like they have a great nursing staff. On June 13, and again on June 16, we both attended a childbirth class at the hospital, and met with various doctors and staff personnel at both Ochsner Hospital and East Jefferson Central Hospital. Had the last class on June 29.

Preparing the Nursery
As soon as we were able to move back into our home, we began furnishing the nursery. Aunt Jackie loaned us a baby bed; we obtained a baby armoire from a neighbor who no longer needed the item. We decided to use the antique dresser as our changing table - we ordered a new marble top. The baby-size rocking chair which once belonged to Brian, will later become a part of the nursery. Likewise, a Dutailier rocker was passed down from Aunt Farah and Uncle Vic. We painted the walls a pale green with white trim and will continue to put the finishing touches on the room, awaiting the baby's arrival. Pam Avara (Ava's Paternal Great Aunt) hand-made a quilt, which is proudly displayed and used in the nursery.
