Me and Music

 

I am in this picture, singing in my school's octet.  There are two points to this:

  1. I love to sing, and I love music

  2. I don't have a lot of talent.  However, the experience of singing in this group taught me a valuable lesson that I learned later than I should have.  We were a group of friends who did not take the whole thing very seriously.  When challenged, we actually got to be pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. At the time, I just thought it was one more thing that came easily to me.  It wasn't until years later that I realized that we really worked hard at it, and that the hard work is what produced results.
