9/17/02 - It's unbelievable to me, how I have fallen prey to procrastination with keeping this journal up to date. My life goes on and as I've reported in the past, I am still totally satisfied with the outcome of my surgery. Although my weight will forever be something that I have to keep an eye on, I now have the tool that will keep me the success. I fluctuate plus or minus 10 lbs from time to time. And my goal of 160 is still elusive. So I will keep striving. I will truly feel like a success if I can ever reach that number. I don't know why it is so difficult to get off the last four pounds. Maybe so I just keep it in the front of my mind...and always have a goal.Since last I wrote, I spent an entire month in Egypt and it was a wonderful vacation. I will try to post a picture or two from the vacation as I have time.
I have begun having problems again with my ulcer, and the gb surgeon as asked me to schedule some time to meet with him to discuss our options. It seems that there is a possibility that the continued resurfacing of the ulcer at the same location (at the site of the gb anastamosis) may be due to the blood flow to that tissue not being adequate. Not a surgical anomaly, but related to the surgery just the same. Dr. Haluck, wants to exhaust all other options for dealing with the ulcer before he opts for a surgical correction. I agree totally. I've had enough surgeries on this body :)
Okay, I'll close for now and post this with my apologies again for the long delay between posts.
Thanks for checking up on me.
Till next time.
