Dodge Viper Literature
I purchased these three books, and subscribed to "Viper Magazine"
long before I bought my Viper. Being the analytical kind of
guy I am, I did all the homework I could before I wrote the check.
You should too. The books are listed in the order that I would purchase
them in. If you're a Viper lover, you should have them all.
If you order the books, Amazon.com
takes care of all billing, customer care, and shipping. They are
a very reputable company, and one of the real electronic commerce success
stories on the net. I purchased the first two books listed from them,
and have ordered many other books from them as well. Amazon.com
has never let me down. They are also a great place to buy gifts for distant
friends.

Viper (Enthusiasts Color Series)
By Matthew L. Stone
Viper takes you through the development of the Dodge Viper from
the show car prototype through the GTS coupe including coverage of pace
car activities, as well as Lemans Vipers, and the GTSR. I think it's better
written than the book below, but not as well printed. Has a few short
interviews with Team Viper. Softcover. 96 pages, lots of great color
photos. Cost is about 11 bucks. If you're going to buy
one Viper book, this is the one to get. |

Dodge Viper : Performance Portfolio (Brooklands Road
Test)
This book is a collection of magazine articles about the Viper.
They come from many different magazines including: Car and Driver, Road
& Track, Motor Trend, and Automobile. Dates of the articles range
from September of 1990 to February of 1998. It's 140 pages of black
and white, and includes lots of photos. Print quality is fair at
best, but if you don't have these old magazines, it's worth it. Softcover.
Cost is about 20 bucks. |

Viper: Pure Performance by Dodge
By the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide
This book was very inspirational to me. I bought it a few
years before I was able to get my Viper, and read it about a bazillion
times. It has great photos of the the show and production cars, and
is worth buying just for the pictures. The authors take you back
to the cars that begat the Viper. Includes interviews with a few
Team Viper members. The book focusses mostly on the development and
early cars, and doesn't have much past '92. Hardcover. 80 pages with
lots of color photos. Cost for this one is around 15 bucks.
