Located in Bavaria in southern Germany Burghausen Castle is the longest existing castle in Europe. It is over a kilometer long (six tenths of a mile) and has six different courtyards. Above is the main castle in the first courtyard. Burghausen describes itself as a "little city" which connects the past and present, the mystical and realism, the traditional and the technological future. It certainly does and is one of those rare "finds" that you feel you've discovered yourself.
