1. Double Tree Hotel

I'll start with Double Tree Hotel which is one of the official hotels for the 2005 Nationals.

Double Tree Hotel is half a block from the "NE 7th Avenue" Max station. Basically, it's next to the parking lot (photo above). Here is another photo of the Max station from across the street. As you can see, the side walk is nicely paved with red bricks all along the max line. It's very well lit at night as there are thousands of people walking along the Max line after an event at the Rose Quarter. Very safe to walk at night. During my "tour", I tried to time myself and see how long will it take me to walk from the Rose Quarter back to the Double Tree. It took me 15 minutes in an extremely slow pace. I was taking pictures, walked into 2 hotels to ask for information, talked the the TriMet supervisor to ask about "FREE RIDE" information. If you're just walking from the hotel to the Rose Quarter, it should only take you about 10 minutes or less.

Another advantage of the Double Tree Hotel: It is directly across the street from the Lloyd Center Mall. Inside the mall are department stores, a skating rink, food court, Dollar Tree store (for you to pick up stuff animals for skaters), etc. One block away from Lloyd Center Mall is Safeway. You can pick up grocery there within walking distance. There are also many restaurants near the Mall as well.
