We are a small hobby cattery raising kittens in our home. Our hope to answer common questions
about Siberians as well as our practices. Please feel free to email us with questions about
the Siberian breed or about purchasing a kitten from us.
Visiting the cattery. Visitors are always welcome. First time visitors are asked to complete a Kitten Application or Cattery Visitation form.
Allergy testing with the cats. People with severe cat allergies should consider testing with Siberians when possible. Email and request a Cattery Visit Form.
Reserving a kitten. Request a Kitten Reservation form by Email. When we receive the form and the $100 kitten deposit, we will place you on the kitten reservation list.
Are Siberian cats hypoallergenic? There are large variations within the breed, but some Siberians like Larisa and Kaleriia cause few allergic reactions. Our breeding cats have tested low for feline allergen levels. As a breed, Siberians often cause lower allergic response than other cat breeds. If you are allergic to cats, please read our Allergies page and then feel free to contact us for more details.
Why choose a small home cattery? Cats imprint between two and eight weeks of age. During this period they need considerable daily physical contact with people to become affectionate pets and to lose their natural fears. Some catteries raise kittens in cages. Raised in this manner, kittens lack interaction with people and their behavior is very unpredictable.
How much do kittens cost? Our prices are comparable with other Siberian catteries in our region, but do vary based on hypoallergenic testing and breed conformation. Feel free to contact us for information about a specific litter.
Can kittens be shipped? We prefer kittens are picked up at the cattery if possible. When needed, we are willing to ship within the United States. We charge a flat fee of $300 for airfare, carrier, and flight certificates.
What is your health guarantee? We have selected our breeding cats from lines with low genetic health risks. Our cattery is free from FIP, FelV and other contagious diseases. Prior to leaving the cattery each kitten will received a veterinary exam and will be certified free of disease and parasites. Kittens are sold with a one-year warranty against genetic and congenital disorders.
Are the kittens registered? Kittens will be registered with TICA or CFA. Formal papers for pet kittens will be held until neutering requirements are met.
When are kittens neutered? Studies on early neutering have been very comprehensive and show no adverse effects. We recommend neutering males at three to four months. Female kittens should be spayed at five or six months of age.
How are males and females different? Adult female Siberians are smaller than males, averaging 9 to 14 lbs. Adult males will weigh 12-18 lbs. There is little difference in behavior or affection between neutered males and females. Once neutered, males make wonderful companions and do not spray. Low allergen males have similar allergen levels to low allergen females. |
