There are two divisions of Orientals, the
shorthair and the longhair. The shorthair Orientals are more common and come in every
imaginable color and pattern. The longhair Orientals have a somewhat shaggy coat and are
newer to the show circuit. The primary emphasis at Luvlypurr Cattery has evolved to
longhair bicolor Orientals.
Cattery History
The first oriental shorthair to come into the cattery was RW,
GC Kossikat Mon Aimee, a blue mackerel tabby female shorthair leased from her owner,
already bred to one of her males. This first litter, born Sep 4th, 1996, produced a female
ebony mackerel tabby that I showed as a kitten and to her championship, Ch Luvlypurr's Tanzenite.
