WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE

horizontal rule

I hope you enjoy these pages of my family genealogy. More importantly, I hope you will find helpful information relative to your own genealogy. If you do find a connection or a possible connection to any of these family lines, please contact me.

I have spent about 30 years researching the various Mangum (And related spellings) lineages. I have also published 38 issues of a Mangum Family Bulletin beginning in 1969. It was put on hold in 1992 while I finished my "Books". The Mangum book, "Pleasant Mangum and All His Kin" was completed in 1997. The Rose book, "An Alabama Rose Garden- The Rose Family of Lauderdale & Limestone Counties" was completed in 1998. I re-started the bulletin in January of 2000 under the name "The Mangum-Mangrum-Mangham Journal". The first issues are concentrated on the origins of the Mangum (and related spelling) name, both in the U.S. and in England. Please send me any Mangum related information you can share. Hopefully it will eventually make it into my bulletin. I need lineages, as well as source data (Wills, deeds, marriages, deaths, births, migrations, etc.) from any area.

Please check out the two CDs available. The Parham CD has all 11 of the old "Parham Records" publication from the 1970's, along with an index. The Mangum CD has all that and more. It has 38 issues of the old "Mangum Family Bulletin" plus all the back issues of the new "Mangum-Mangham-Mangrum Journal". It contains a complete index to both and also has some photos made in England in 1999 relating to Mangham parish churches.

These pages are quite shallow because only so much can be put in a web page. The modest book on my Mangums has about 350 pages. The book on the Roses has about 380. If these few inadequate pages pique your interest, contact me at the e-mail address shown on the home page. I can, hopefully, give you additional information plus direction to other researchers.

Not all the lines in these pages are equally represented. Research into some of them is only just beginning. Only on the Mangum related lineages and possibly the Parham lineages do I have information on a large number of branches. The others are concentrated on my own direct family. Don't hesitate to contact me on any of the lines though. I will help if I can.

Don't be confused by the references to James L. and Lynn Parham. They are one and the same, that is "me".

A FINAL NOTE: Please feel free to make suggestions for improvement in this web site. It's purpose is to convey accurate although not complete information about the various family lineages. Corrections, updates, criticisms, etc. are most welcome.
