Equipment of the Missabe

The prototype is almost singularly focused on hauling ore.  Nonetheless, there is diversity in both it's ore car fleet as well as its non-ore equipment.  The Missabe Railroad Historical Society has several pages on DM&IR equipment, and I refer you there for a more complete collection.  Click "MISSABE PROTOTYPE" on their left navigation pane.

Below (and to the left) are a few models I have recently completed, as well as a quick peek at other paint/decal projects.

Class G1 Gondola

As I am the Modeling Editor for the MRHS, I wrote an article on modeling the Missabe's Class G1 Gondola, and included it here.  The Gondola really is a modified flat car.  Read more on this project.

Caboose C-182

The Walthers 3-window wood caboose looked a lot like the Missabe's caboose 182.     Take a look at this kitbash project.

W-series auxiliary water car

I recently came across both an old Walthers tank car and a slide I took at an MRHS convention some years ago of an old tank car once used for extra water behind steamers.   I decided this car needed to be modeled.  Read more on this project.
