Completion of the satellite stations
has placed all District residents
within the insurance industry’s 4-6 minute response time standard of
protection.
The total combined service area of the
Fire/Rescue Department is roughly 25 square miles and approximately 35,000
citizens. Last year, the Fire/Rescue Department responded to 1,585 fire calls
and 1,646 EMS calls, a total of 3,231 fire/rescue calls for help.

Please consider...
 | No neighborhood can afford to be unprotected at any time of day or
night. |
 | This is a very small portion of your tax bill. |
 | In 2003, the District operated at a $1,052,592 deficit. |
 | If the stations are not in continuous round-the-clock operation, the
District’s fire insurance rating could deteriorate, possibly increasing
the cost of fire insurance. |
 | District revenue must increase by an estimated $800,000 annually to assure
the current level of protection. |

The quality services and associated
responsibilities provided by the Fire/Rescue Department include
 | fire suppression |
 | advanced life support emergency medical care and transportation |
 | fire prevention and education |
 | hazardous materials mitigation |
 | underwater rescue/recovery |
 | confined space and high angle rescue |
 | plan reviews |
 | life safety inspection services |
The Department operates out of four
stations. The Village of Lake Zurich also provides these services, under
contract, to the Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection District.
