Completion of the satellite stations

has placed all District residents within the insurance industry’s 4-6 minute response time standard of protection. 

The total combined service area of the Fire/Rescue Department is roughly 25 square miles and approximately 35,000 citizens. Last year, the Fire/Rescue Department responded to 1,585 fire calls and 1,646 EMS calls, a total of 3,231 fire/rescue calls for help.

bulletIn 2003, the District operated at a $1,052,592 deficit. 
bulletIf the stations are not in continuous round-the-clock operation, the District’s fire insurance rating could deteriorate, possibly increasing the cost of fire insurance.
bulletDistrict revenue must increase by an estimated $800,000 annually to assure the current level of protection.

 

 

The quality services and associated responsibilities provided by the Fire/Rescue Department include

bulletunderwater rescue/recovery 
bulletconfined space and high angle rescue 
bulletplan reviews 
bulletlife safety inspection services 

The Department operates out of four stations. The Village of Lake Zurich also provides these services, under contract, to the Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection District.
