My Dirty Secret

Doctor Who has been a guilty pleasure for many for the last 20 or 30 years this side of the ocean even though it was a British institution during the same time. It’s nice to have the show back, and looking better we could have ever hoped it would.
About 23 years ago, I happened to stumble on the British cult series DOCTOR WHO on public television and got instantly hooked. The show is legendary in many countries but always had kind of niche in the US. After 27 seasons it was finally put to rest by the BBC a dozen years ago and ressurrected in 2005. In three short years it's become one of the flagship dramas on the BBC, won numerous awards, spawned two spin-offs and is one of the prime-time anchor drama's on the Sci-Fi channel in the U.S.
The show is going on a one year "hiatus" of sorts now in which 3 or 4 specials will be produced before the 5th series of the new run begins in 2010. I guess that gives me plenty of time to examine and rant about the first 4 season of the revamped program.

I’ll take a look at the final few episodes of Series 4 of the new series and revisit the classic as well.
