Who Won the Argument?

A news story from the Tallahassee Democrat recounts an interesting incident today, but doesn’t seem to answer the most pertinent question.

Let me quote without permission directly from the report.

Marquita Cherrell Armstrong was a passenger in a car driven by Jeffery Dawayne Watson Tuesday when the two got into an argument on I-10 near Tallahassee.

State troopers said Armstrong told Watson that she wanted to get out, but Watson refused to pull over in a construction zone. That's when Armstrong opened the car door and jumped out.

Armstrong was taken to the hospital with serious injuries

All the best arguments my parents had when I was a kid always ended with one of them storming out of the house and going somewhere--often the liquor store. When I finally got married and was mature enough to have my own marital disputes, I tried the grabbing the car keys routine and getting the hell out, but I found over time that the best that came out of that is that you end up driving aimlessly for a few minutes feeling like an idiot--not for being wrong in the argument, but because you’ve got no place to go and you’re driving around for no reason. Then you get to go home 15 minutes later and look foolish before continuing the argument.

Ultimately, Ms. Armstrong made a pretty drastic decision to storm out of an argument in this manner. No word yet on whether she’s going to pull through. However, even though we know how her argument with Jeffery Dawayne Watson came to it’s conclusion, we still don’t know
who won the argument.

Just based on what we know, my vote is for Mr. Watson.
