The Tale of a Songwriter
Having been in many cover bands
as a lead guitarist, Mark Buerschaper had felt that something was missing.
Even when trying to switch to different genres such as Rockabilly, New
Age, Blues, and Classic Rock bands, the chasm of creativity was still not
fulfilled. The seeds of solution would soon be sown due to an electronics
course which Mark took. After taking the course, Mark decided to enroll
in something more enjoyable, which led him to the renowned Old Town School
of Folk Music. It was here that the enjoyment of songwriting classes led
him to a horizon of creative opportunities beyond lead guitar. After taking
a few classes, Mark began to appear at open mics such as the
Abbey Pub. Appearances at coffeeshops and showcases followed afterwards (click
to the facts page for more info) and he continues to play these type of venues
today.
Asked of his style of music, Mark will tell you
that it's bluesy ballads, modern folk, as well as acoustic rock. (For alternative
descriptions go to the reviews page) When you come
right down to it though, it's basically original acoustic oriented music.
Mark's last CD "No Figment of Imagination" was his
debut recording. The album featured a real mix of ballads, rockers,
novelty tunes as well as political and social observations.
This site primarily features the latest recorded
effort entitled "Triple Love Bookends". Mark could describe the tunes but
would
rather give the fans a chance for feedback on
the guestbook/interview page. The CD features 11 original tunes by Mark,
and
like "No Figment" was also entirely recorded by him.
