Ken Macomber is a Certified Genealogist (CGSM) with over 15 years of research experience
and over 30 years experience in computer application services. As a genealogist he has extensive experience in family history research and use of popular genealogical computing products to develop databases.
As a lecturer, he frequently contributes to national newsletters and demonstrates genealogical software to genealogical organizations.
Ken is a frequent speaker at regional/local workshops and user
groups on genealogy software. He is Vice President of the The Villages Genealogical Society. He is past President of the Shenandoah Valley Genealogical Society and Virginia. Roots Users
Group (RUG) of Arlington, VA. He is a retired Navy Captain with past biographical experience as a naval intelligence officer.
Ken has certificates of completion in the National Genealogical
Society (NGS) Basic Course, National Institute for Genealogical Research (NIGR), Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research
(IGHR), Virginia Institute of Genealogical Research (VIGR), and is a graduate of Old Dominion University (MBA) and Florida State University (BS). He is a former faculty member and course
coordinator at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) at Samford University.
