~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MY SHACK~~~~~~~~~~~
OLD shack. new shack page coming soon....major changes !
This is my regular shack. Whenever I get a new radio or want to play with an old one I use the coffee table in my collection room.
My DXing is done on a Satellit 800 with a GAP Inline Module DSP noise reduction unit. it is quite versatile and effective and I like it. The audio from that goes to the Grove SP-200 amplified speaker with tone controls and peak/notch audio filters.
MY SWL work is done on the Lowe HF-225 that I have modified (see my tips page for more) so that it is the best sounding radio for the money. The audio from the 225 goes to an Altec Lansing  ACS-45 3 way active speaker system which is my favorite from my years of tyring many out.
The Yaesu FRG-7700 has both the memory unit and 3 upgraded filters. Two mechanical filters from Radio West in the 80's and a HiFi ceramic filter that I installed last year. I use this for testing purposes or whatever ? It uses a Yaesu FRA-7700 active antenna that has been modified to be non Yaesu specific.
I use a Grove TUN-4 with my outdoor antenna to split the signal to the 225 and 800 and it can amplify and preselect if desired. It is quite a nice unit. Before the TUN-4 is a Kiwa 10db preamp for extra luck.
The scanner above the 225 is the extremely impressive and hard to find Standard AX-700.
