The lights at www.magnariders.com went out on 12/31/2009. I am working to transport the entire site to my Comcast web space. Nothing will get lost, and if Honda ever resurrects the Magna again, the site too may stand on its own again.

Bike trading scam update

One of our members just reported running into to scam posted below. After being contacted by e-mail, he smelled a rat when the seller offered a check for $4,300 over the asking price. When he did not respond to the offer, the scammer(s) actually contacted him by phone wondering why he had not gotten back to them. So, the scam is real and alive. Definitely do beware!

Beware of bike trading scam

There is a scam involving overseas buyers of motorcycles. They offer to buy your bike and send you more than what you ask. Then they ask you to return the balance to their shipper after getting your price. This ranges from $4000-5000 depending on scam artist. They send you a "bank" check for lots of money and want you to cash it and send them the balance after buying your bike to Nigeria (or somewhere) by Western Union. This is a scam and the FBI, Secret Service, and Interpol want these people. BEWARE!

The board host, InsideTheWeb did not provide a way to archive messages, so everything in the archive had to be culled and formatted manually. As a result, only specific topics were considered for archival
