Welcome

Established in 1993, the Sacramento Maharlika Lions Club currently has more than 50 men and women members who volunteer their time to perform a variety of community and humanitarian service activities.

Lions Clubs International (LCI)  is the world’s largest service club organization with 1.3 million members in more than 200 countries.  LCI is a network of Individual club united in helping each other. Worldwide, Lions Clubs are recognized for their service to the community and the visually impaired.

Maharlika Lions has a strong commitment to young people.  We present youth scholarships through local organizations like the Outstanding Filipino Youth Awards. We sponsor Student Speakers and Peace Poster contests, and International youth exchange programs.

We make monetary contributions for cancer research, diabetes awareness, battered women shelters like My Sister's House and the Habitat for Humanity.  We provide eyeglasses for the needy and free professional glaucoma screenings, We volunteer thousands of hours to community involvement such as serving hot lunches at the Loaves and Fishes; gathering blankets and jackets for the homeless; participating in the state’s creek's clean up program and more.

Lions club members enable clubs to meet diverse local and international needs. Individually and together with their clubs, Lions take on projects as  varied as cleaning up the neighborhood park while they also combat international issues, develop relationships and fulfill their potential.

Outside the Sacramento area, Maharlika Lions supports farm workers that live in the poorest areas of Yolo, Fresno and Salinas.  Overseas, we hold surgical, medical and dental missions to help those without access to healthcare.

CLUB OBJECTIVES

TO TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

TO ENCOURAGE service-minded men and women to serve their community without personal financial reward.

TO UNITE the club members in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.
