Harry Potter casts a worldwide spell

(and don't worry, we're not spilling any secrets!)

Potter lust

My stomach was shredding itself into painful knots for almost two weeks before July 20th. The book was released in Trinidad at 7:01 p.m., to coincide with midnight openings in England. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows … the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga, was about to arrive. - Kate Agard

Muggle mobs swarm bookstores

No fancy spells were needed to bring mobs of wizard-loving muggles to Border’s Bookstore in Farmington, Conn. on Friday for the midnight release of the seventh and final installment of the beloved Harry Potter series. - Kiernan Majerus-Collins

Pottermania in Australia

Though they’re separated from the rest of the world by oceans, Australia’s teenagers are no exception to the Harry Potter craze sweeping the world by storm.

Fifteen year-old Morgan Ferguson of Berwick, Victoria, says Australian Harry Potter fans “are no different” than they are anywhere else.

Aussie Potter fans “might be catching a ride on … kangaroos down to the bookstore to buy our new copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as soon as we can muster up the money,” Ferguson said, but that doesn’t mean they love the teen wizard less or differently than the rest of the world. -- Madeleine Slaughter

Harry Potter, one of us

July 21st, 2007 will surely be recorded in the annals of history as the day in which a young, awkwardly heroic boy captivated the minds and hearts of thousands. -- Bruno Werneck

Growing up with Harry Potter

The addiction, the craze, the magic! To think I almost missed out on all of it is as crazy as the Harry Potter madness itself.

I am one of your typical Harry Potter fans, something I never thought I would become. --- Danielle Letourneau
