Final Fantasy IX is a mixture of ideas from the older Final Fantasies such as Final Fantasy VI (and perhaps was supposed to be a Final Fantasy Gaiden?). Being the last of the series on the original Playstation, it was low budget and not perfected before its release. With music composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the soundtrack is decent but does not show Uematsu's greatest works.
