Xenosaga is a six episode series that continues the world that Xenogears first depicted (Xenogears is episode five). The first episode was scored by Xenogears's original composer Yasunori Mitsuda, who once again creates possibly one of the best orchestrated soundtracks of any RPG to date. The second episode's music was written by Yuki Kajiura, who has previous done work in anime (Noir, hack//sign, etc.). Although Kajiura successfully keeps much of the first episode's feeling in the orchestrated sections, many of the regular songs fall flat of Mitsuda's standards.
