Listening to Pearl Jam's NO CODE at the office. First song, Sometimes, takes me right back to 1996, when this was 1 of the only 2 CDs in our new apartment in Beaverton, Oregon. Magic and exciting times back then as we had just moved cross country and settled in Portland, OR. Then all was opportunity and embarking on the new and different, new city, new apartment, finding a new job, new world.

Oh yeah, still dry. 6 months sober as of last Monday. Go me! No cheeba since early june. i've lost a little weight and my mind is so damn clear, its startling.

Summer has been cool and wet this year, just as i like it. Waiting for the coolness of fall to chase the pleasure boats off of the Delaware so I can become the Mad Kayaker again. I'd like to get some water time on Barnegat Bay too.

I have $50 left over from birthday $$ (yes, from my parents, like when i was 18) which i think is worth a visit to the Princeton Record Exchange. Great selection of used CDs there.

Looking back at my May 23, 2004 post, "I simply want to be able to take off my shirt this summer at the pool and beach." Only lost a few pounds but took my shirt off anyway. I decided that it was ridiculuous to hide my buddha and flabby body under a shirt like some overly self conscious girl. Let the buddha hang out Baby!

Cleaning up a corner of the basement to be my sanctuary. Lost the 3rd floor to our new tenants (yes, rent $$) of sister-in-law and her boyfriend. Its pretty dingy in the basement w/ low ceilings and 80 years of basement mustiness. Yet there are full size windows w/ lots of sunlight, cooky pipes all over, rought brick walls and even 2 working porcelain sinks. Our basement actually has a couple of side rooms off of the large open area and even ground level access doors.

Am planning on organizing tools in the small hall like area to the right of the steps down from the kitchen. This hallway already has our extra freezer and fridge and a sturdy old workbench in place. the hall ends at the south wall of the house at the ground level access door. Off this hall, to a sharp right, is the secondary room w/ the sinks and windows mentioned above. Am picturing one of my homemade desks w/ my primary Win2k computer and peripherals. The Win98 Micron machine and old Howe Win98 machine running and connected to the network somewhere in the room. Also, at least 1 book case, a reading chair, boom box, ALL of my music CDs and whatever else I am tinkering w/ at the moment. It will just be a spot where I can retreat from the craziness of the rest of the house and enjoy some solo projects.

Need to install eletrical outlets w/ help of Dad in law. Also clean the junk out, scrape the floor and walls and paint both. Then move whatever desired furniture in. Can't wait. Maybe I'll get some time in this weekend.
